Mr & Mrs T, after seeing five other window/door installations that we had undertaken in the road, commissioned us to replace all seventeen traditional timber box sash windows in their house. Six of the windows were fitted with the original decorative leaded glazing they wished to retain and reuse in the replacement window.
We removed the original decorative leads and replaced them with temporary glazing. The decorative leads were then taken to our joinery workshop where they were repaired/renovated where necessary, cleaned, dried and then encased in double glazed sealed units and subsequently fitted in the replacement timber windows. We also have the facility to make up traditional decorative leads using individual glass quarries and lead cames to any design, many other types of featured patterned glass are available.
The replacement windows fitted with decorative leads now not only mirror the original period detail but have all the modern benefits of double glazing and long-term maintenance free demands.
